I bought one of these a couple years ago and installed it myself — the only thing to be cautious of is making sure the wires don’t fall down the hole in the wall. I’ve heard the suggestion of wraping them around a pencil or pen so they don’t fall in.
These thermostats allow you to pre-program the temperature for various points of the day, such as turning it down low for when you’re away at work or when you’re sleeping. Then you can set the time for it to come on just before you get out of bed, so the house is warm.
Great cheap investment that can save you a lot of money over the years.
